After having done the deep dive into Bad Eschatology, I find myself shocked at how man-centered our faith has become. We no longer want to know what God says. We just want to know what other men say.
When was the last time your pastor prepared a sermon without consulting a book written by some dead guy?
It's really rare.
Then there are our Bible translations. Every single Bible translation is riddle with errors - some of them intentional.
Why is all this happening?
We've become rebels against God.

End The Rebellion
I remember the first time that someone told me the meaning of the word 'Islam'. I was repulsed.
Submission?
That's what Islam means?
Boy, I was glad that I didn't have to... oh, wait. Christianity means the same thing, but instead of submitting to the false god of the Qur'an, we submit to Christ, the Father and yes, the Holy Spirit.
Our very first step of faith in Christ is submission - along with every other step that we make until the day that we die. If you claim Christ, but refuse to submit - you are a rebel destined for an awful eternity.
People love to claim salvation by faith alone, as if belief in God is all that you need. But faith, without obedience, is dead. James said it this way:
But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?
- James 2:20 (NKJV)
The entire book of James is about submission to God, in whatever condition you find yourself in. And, if you won't submit and do what God tells you to do, your faith is dead and your eternity uncertain.
Yet, when I mention to Christians the need for submission and obedience to God, I am met with either outrage or deafening silence.
Allow Me To Trample Your Toes
I have met very few Christians who are willing to submit to the words of God given to us in the Bible. It seems that no one is able to contemplate the possibility that they could be wrong in whatever theological position that they take. And, I want to confess to you that I was in this position once-upon-a-time, and God had to knock me down hard to get my attention.
That's right, I also was ignorant and arrogant - even insufferable. When Paul speaks of having been a Pharisee the son of a Pharisee, I completely identify with that. I've had to repent of a lot of what I am about to describe to you. So, when I throw out the following compare/contrasts of certain ideologies, I'm not just trampling your toes, I'm also trampling my own:
Protestants and Catholics sprinkle babies instead of immersing believers, and they once would burn you at the stake if you disagreed. On the other extreme, the Disciples of Christ say that you cannot be saved UNLESS you have been baptized.
Baptists preach a pretrib rapture, when there is literally no verse in the Bible that describes this 'catching away' as occurring before the Great Tribulation. In actuality, the Bible says the opposite. But I find myself utterly horrified when I talk to post-tribbers. Almost every one of them denies that Israel has a place in the Body of Christ.
Cessationists believe that the Holy Spirit no longer gives visions, healings, etc. - while there isn't a single verse in the Bible that confirms their position. It's as if the Holy Spirit has left the building. But then, many Pentecostals claim that you aren't saved unless you speak in 'tongues', and I have yet to hear any example of that which isn't pure glossalalia.
Certain groups claim that we need to follow Torah, while the Bible clearly and emphatically says that we should not. And at the same time, I find far too many Christians claiming that there's nothing of importance in the Hebrew Scriptures (aka, Old Testament).
Calvinists get so wound up with predestination that they can talk of nothing else. They are often fatalistic to the point that they don't know how to share the gospel. But on the other side, the Arminians are so obsessed with free will, that they twist and reject ANY mention in the Bible, of God choosing us from before the foundation of the world.
Those who believe in a 'Once Saved Always Saved' theology will completely ignore all scriptures that mention being erased from the Book of Life. On the other hand, those who claim a 'conditional salvation' live in constant fear of falling away because God 'clearly' doesn't love them enough to keep them on the right path.
We have Christians who actually deny that there are demons, even though the Bible talks about them. At the same time, I've had to experience effects of truly demonic activity in almost every place that I've lived in East Asia. On the other side, there are Christians who believe that it is their job to engage in constant combat with demons - so much so that they can talk of nothing else.
On one side, we have Christians who will flee a church if there is even the tiniest theological disagreement. On the other, there are those who compromise over the worst heresies, just to 'be in unity' with fellow Christians.
I could go on, but I'll stop here. Like I said, I've had to repent of quite a few things that I listed above. I have gotten things wrong, but I have devoted my life to repenting of that which is in error. It's not easy, but I hope that you will join me in clearing out the mess that we have created.
I Blame Our Seminaries
Ultimately, I blame our seminaries for perpetuating - even creating - our man-centered corruption of Christianity. It's true that 'schools of divinity' seem like a good idea. But, we took whatever good that was there, and turned it into 'scholarship'.
Instead of seeking the wisdom of God through the Holy Spirit, we engaged in 'logical' argument. We handed out doctorates to 'theologians' who could churn out 'intellectual' and 'cultured' arguments for doctrines that we liked - instead of the less pleasant truth.
Our seminaries taught our pastors to put on a good show, stand tall and pound their pulpits. They taught them to rule, instead of lead - forgetting that Christ called us to a humble spirit and service to others.
Have we gone insane?
Have we lost our minds?
What's wrong with us?
It's as if we've chosen to participate in a 2000 year rebellion against God. Instead of reading the Bible, we chose foolish commentaries by Augustine, Henry and Gill. And, when we translated the Bible, we hired incompetents who couldn't do the job, or apostates intent on bending the Bible to their will. And, there's one recent example that is one of the foulest that I've heard in a long time.
Example of the ESV Bible
The 2016 version of the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Bible is a blatant example of deliberate corruption. They deliberately changed Genesis 3:16 to mean the opposite of what the original Hebrew says.
They took this verse in the RSV:
To the woman he said, “I will greatly multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children, yet your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.”
And changed it to this:
To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.”
Many people have communicated their outrage with Crossway over allowing such a crime to happen, but they refuse to budge. They literally see nothing wrong with deliberately reversing the words of God. They know that they did this. They know who did it. They won't change it.
Wayne Grudem was the snake that pushed this change through, and he is cursed by God for doing it. And, Crossway is cursed for refusing to fix this deliberate corruption of God's Word. I communicated with them directly, and they doubled down on this change.
Again, this was not a 'mistake'. This was deliberate.
They did it on purpose with malice aforethought.
What other deliberate corruptions have they inflicted upon the ESV?
Casting Out The Redemption Of Israel
And then, what will probably turn out to be one of our biggest rebellions of all, we have cast aside God's promise to bring the Children of Jacob back to Himself. The prophets are unanimous in proclaiming the redemption of Israel, yet we deny that God has any meaningful intention of doing so.
Every Christian group has either tossed away Israel completely, or shoved the salvation of the Jewish people into that tiny sliver of time in which the Antichrist rules the world. It seems that only Charles Spurgeon understood that Israel would join the Body of Christ before the Great Tribulation came. All others have flung aside what God explicitly said, for the illusory pleasures of comfortable fables.
This is a shocking and depressing thing to watch. And, as I discovered when I wrote my two books on the subject, there will be a very steep price to pay for ignoring what God so clearly proclaimed. But, it is only just that we suffer for our rebellious rejection of God's word.
As Samuel said to Saul:
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the Lord,
He also has rejected you from being king.”
- 1 Samuel 15:23 (NKJV)
Read Your Bible
It's time to end the rebellion. And, you can do that by simply reading your Bible every day and submitting to what you read. You could start by opening whatever Bible that you have, and reading that for 15 minutes at the beginning of every day. Or, you could buy a One Year Bible from Amazon or a used book store. Or, you could install one of many apps that are available for free for Android and iPhone.
I developed a free Android app that I use every day. You can find it here:
Android Apps

Reading through the Bible every year has helped me see where I was wrong, and what was right. And God still works with me every day through the priceless message of the Bible.
If you aren't reading your Bible, now is the time to create a new habit that will enrich your life forever. If you truly wish to escape the rebellion, read your Bible.
A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. – Proverbs 22:3

John, Can you produce a definite Scripture verse or passage that tells us specifically that the 'Torah' has been abolished?? If you can, then your bible is different to mine. DON'T GET ME WRONG, I do not follow the Torah as such however the Lord has been challenging me on the subject over the past 2 years. This year I really honed in on what Jesus actually taught & no where did He or Paul as I am now in Romans say that the law was abolished!! In fact, the law came long before Moses gave it at Sinai. It was verbal up until that time, written on man's hearts. They knew when they were doing right or wrong according to God's wishes. By writing it down on tablets of stone it was now a Statement, written down. Jesus is the Word of God, so God spoke & wrote the Words Himself. Also God said that these words would not pass away, they were eternal. Jesus himself said that He didn't come to abolish the law but in fact, to fulfill it. I am sorry but the horse is Jesus & the cart being pulled is the law. The law was written into our hearts & we keep them as in Thou shalt love the Lord your God... and your neighbour as yourself... The 10 laws are summarized into the two but we are still to keep them.
Romans chp 7:22 Paul says, For I delight in the law of God in my inner being. So yes, we naturally keep the law as the cart that follows the horse. We don't put the cart before the horse as a number of people these days have fallen into the trap of doing. As far as the rest of the laws in Leviticus, my cousin has been studying the Hebrew in this book & he says it all points to Christ & he came away incredibly moved by the Hebrew. He points out that if we love Christ we will keep these laws as they were made to keep the people safe - they were made out of God's love for his people to protect them from diseases etc. I also read elsewhere just recently that linen & wool both have the same signature frequency. The human signal is 100 in a healthy person. Organic cotton is the same, 100. Linen & wool both register at 5,000 & cancel one another out if worn together or mixed as a thread. So a linen shirt covered by a woolen jacket is not advisable. Also wool flows from left to right & linen from right to left. Both on their own are super fabrics & give off health & well being but put together make one sick. This was all done by a Jewish doctor scientifically. I had heard of this a few years ago & it doesn't surprise me because our bodies are electrical. One reason why I always felt better walking around bare footed but can't these days & miss it as I lived in bare feet for 70 years of my life.
I have been praying & asking the Lord for three years now for understanding of the verse in Jeremiah 6: 16 & finally this year I believe He has given me the answer. The old or ancient path is following His decrees, laws, commandments etc. from the Tanakh, that He has never abolished. This year I noted in my bible that over the past couple of years I have queried to the Lord about the laws He gave in Genesis through to Malachi that He called eternal & I have yet to find a Scripture that says that He has now cancelled them. I have also been questioning the Lord for possibly 5 years each time I read the Torah, what do I do with the feasts of the Lord? This year I have my answer, they are for everybody to keep as they are HIS feasts & they covered not only the children of Jacob but also the rabble that came with them out of Egypt. As well as anyone else who was in the land at the time of the feast. I also have come to realise that they are just that except for one - FEASTS - meals to be celebrated before the Lord. I can happily do that as I like special feasts which I don't get otherwise. [I am lucky to get a birthday cake that I can actually eat!! It is only since my g/granddaughter arrived that I get that so that she can blow out the candles which is fine by me!!] So basically I am being challenged by the Holy Spirit to rethink my understanding of these laws & feasts in the Torah. A reminder today was that in John's gospel chapter one tells us that Jesus is the Word & if that is true, then everything written in the Scriptures was written by Jesus as the living Word of God. So is He going to change His mind & toss things out? I hardly think so, He is God & so unchangeable. So I am being slowly forced to change my way of thinking from Marcion's belief system to God's belief system. This is my last hurdle I think. I celebrate Passover now, & just need to align myself with the other feasts as Jesus fulfilled each of the 'spring feasts' - autumn for me as I live in Australia. Now coming soon the autumn feasts for you & the spring for me.
Obviously God gave Adam laws to follow as the son's celebrated a sacrifice, Genesis 4: 3,4 then Cain killed his brother & tried to hide his deed from God. Paul seems to sum up the need for the written laws in Romans 5: 12 to bring us to Christ. It is a very confusing book but chapters 5 through to 8 so far are clear & make absolute sense. From memory I think that I end up confused again before I get to the end of the book but maybe this year the Lord will clarify things for me. I am just amazed that I have come this far in my understanding of the need for the commandments/law & the keeping of the feasts as I had always been taught that Christ did away with the law & the feasts etc. on the cross. Traditions of man!! Here I am in my 6th year of reading the Tanakh & I am turning 180 degrees from my original belief system. The verse in the NT that has haunted me this year was Jesus saying many are called but few are chosen. I wish to be one of the chosen & if it means following the laws that Jesus said he came to fulfill then I will willingly do so. Blessings
