Oh my. Why has our Father let so many earnest believers be misleading? I am asking rhetorically. It is a question for the Holy Spirit and not for you. But wow, how tragic.

Unfortunately, we have quenched the spirit and treated the words of God with irreverence.

I don't find much fear of the Lord in our churches anymore. Or love.

I'm a little confused by this post.

Regarding Daniel's 70th week, It seems like you're arguing against inserting a (1900+ years') gap of time between the first and twenty-first centuries. So, that would mean everything in Daniel's 70 weeks' prophecy was fulfilled by 70AD? Is that what you're saying?

That is exactly what I am saying. The gap theory came from a bad translation of the Hebrew Scriptures. It was called the Septuagint, and it makes Daniel 9:27 sound like the Last Week is in the future.

But that's not what the Hebrew says.

Worse, the Hebrew in verse 24 make it clear that the 70 Weeks is a continual, unbroken span of time. When Hebrew verbs indicate that the subject is singular, then it's singular.

There cannot be a gap in Daniel's 70 Weeks, even though well meaning commentaries say otherwise. The Hebrew is clear on this.

- John

PS. It is written that when devout Jews saw the Septuagint for the first time, they reacted in horror, saying that it was an abomination like the Golden Calf that Aaron created in the Sinai.

The so-called 'pre-Tribulation Rapture' does NOT require the "gap theory" to support it. I do completely agree that Daniel's 70 weeks are contiguous. I also agree that mainstream teaching related to the pre-Trib Rapture is a confused mess. Nevertheless, the Rapture SHALL occur BEFORE the "Day of the LORD" begins. And it is not difficult to PROVE. Biblically, and not by conjecture.

There are 23 mentions of the 'Day of the Lord' there are only two that speak of the Second Coming and Armageddon.

There are none that refer to the Great Tribulation.
