The alliances are not clear to me. I am very interested in your opinion, both from your lived experience and your study of Scriptures.

Hamas and Iran are allied.

The Palestinian Authority is heading to Moscow, according to this. https://twitter.com/jacksonhinklle/status/1711465800182222896?s=20

Hi Jeff,

I guess that I should do a post to untangle the web of alliances in the Middle East and the reasons why those alliances exist. And, the diminished role that the US is playing in the region.

Hamas attacked Israel in such a vicious way to lure the Israeli army into a death trap.

Iran funded and organized this attempt to keep peace deals between Israel and the Arabs from moving forward.

Russia is friends with Iran, because Iran has stolen technology from the US, and Russia wants drones for their war with Ukraine.

Turkey has the largest standing army in the region and is blocking Russia and Iran, because they want an expanded base of power - aka, Neo-Ottomanism. However, they are afraid of the Kurds causing trouble.

The Kurds are located in southern Turkey and northeastern Syria. They are allied with the US, so Turkey can't get at them. Syria can't either.

The Syrians are ruled by a heretical Shiite group (Alawites) that rules over a mostly Sunni country. The Sunnis and Shiites have been killing each other for over a thousand years.

Hezbollah is an arm of Iran and anchors one end of the Shiite Crescent that begins in Iran, goes through Iraq and Syria - ending with Lebanon.

Jordan and Egypt are terrified of instability and want nothing to do with any Palestinian trouble, but will stay very quiet about all that - since they are afraid of their own population getting out of control.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I hope that helps.

Yours in Christ,

- John
